Akshaya Patra reaches out to 16,75,008 children in 32 locations across 12 states of India, providing them with freshly cooked meal on all school days. Currently, we implement the mid-day meal programme in 13,839 schools of the country, with plans to increase that number to hundreds more.

Akshaya Patra serves its mid-day meals in Andhra Pradesh through its centralised kitchens in Visakhapatnam (established in October 2008), Kakinada (operational in December 2015), Mangalagiri (established in June 2016) and Nellore(established in July 2017). These kitchens feed a total of 74,409 children in 370 schools in the state.
The menu has been adapted to the local palate and includes rice, dal (a soup made with dried pulses) and nutritious vegetable dishes.
