Akshaya Patra in Visakhapatnam functions through a highly mechanised centralised kitchen that feeds 21.333 children across 82 schools. The kitchen allows for large scale cooking in an efficient manner, producing food that consistently meets the Foundation's high standards of quality and hygiene every day.

Akshaya Patra maintains its exemplary standards across the massive operation through the support from the Government, corporate funds, philanthropic donors, volunteers and well-wishers. The scale of the operation runs across different parameters including technological innovations, quality management, delivery vehicles and interacting with various stakeholders, to name a few.

The organisation also maintains high transparency in its operations, and makes its financial and intellectual property available to the public. The organisation believes that there is a dire need for its operations to be replicated across India so that its vision that "No child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger" can be realised. And so makes its information available to interested organisations, the Government and other enthusiasts.
